How Truvity is Validating Interoperability in the German Sandbox and ETSI EAA Plugtests

The European digital identity infrastructure is moving rapidly from regulatory specification to real-world deployment. For banks and financial institutions across the EU, the countdown has officially begun. While the legal mandate to accept the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) doesn't take full effect until December 2027, the real competitive deadline is December 2026, when citizens first receive their digital identities.

At Truvity, we’re making sure we’re exactly where you need us. We aren't just claiming interoperability – we are actively validating it. Here is a look inside our current integration efforts.

1. Entering the German EUDI-Wallet Deutschland Sandbox

By participating in the German national sandbox, we are stress-testing standards-based, interoperable systems directly aligned with the eIDAS 2.0 framework. This active participation ensures our platform transitions smoothly from design specifications to working, production-grade infrastructure.

Our initial validation in the sandbox focuses on two critical, high-value financial workflows:

  • PID Verification for KYC Onboarding: Ensuring instant, secure, and legally compliant user identification.
  • EAA Issuance for Proof of Account: Allowing banks to issue secure Electronic Attestation of Attributes, turning a regulatory requirement into a trusted B2B/B2C service.

Abstracting the Technical Complexity

We handle the heavy cryptographic and infrastructural lifting so your engineering teams don't have to. The Truvity EUDIW Connector is engineered as a complete infrastructure solution. It manages far more than basic wallet interactions; it also handles complex Relying Party registrations and the intricate certificate authority operations mandated by Member State registrars.

2. Testing at Scale: The 2026 ETSI EAA Plugtests

Interoperability cannot be proven in a closed environment. To ensure our infrastructure integrates seamlessly with the entire European ecosystem from day one, Truvity is currently participating in the 2026 ETSI EAA Plugtests.

Here is what this rigorous testing window looks like in practice:

  • Format-Level Testing: This goes entirely beyond high-level demos. We are conducting deep, format-level interoperability testing for Electronic Attestation of Attributes (EAA) – the precise credential format that will power the EUDI Wallet ecosystem.
  • Cross-Verification Across Borders: We are proving that credentials issued by Truvity can be instantly verified by other systems, and that our platform can reliably verify theirs, across different wallets, issuers, and Member States.
  • True Ecosystem Scale: We are one of approximately 195 participants testing our live implementation against nearly 200 other technical setups.

Securing Your Ecosystem Readiness

Building or buying an isolated solution leaves your organization vulnerable to integration failures when the ecosystem goes live. True market readiness requires infrastructure that has been cross-verified against hundreds of other European implementations.

When you adopt EUDI Wallet infrastructure, you need absolute confidence that it works seamlessly with the entire ecosystem from day one.

Stay tuned for more updates coming!
