The launch of Germany's EUDI Wallet is set for January 2027. For regulated enterprises – banks, insurers, fintechs and others – the timeline for compliance is already ticking. But waiting for the legal deadline to integrate wallet infrastructure is a high-risk strategy. The real business opportunity belongs to those who are ready to compete the moment citizens first receive their digital identities.
Today, we are thrilled to announce that Truvity has successfully issued a verifiable credential (EAA) into the German national EUDI Wallet Sandbox via the Truvity EUDI Wallet Connector.
We aren't just talking about registrations, theoretical architecture, or future roadmaps. We have built a fully functional integration where live, working credentials flow seamlessly from the Truvity platform directly into the national wallet environment.
When evaluating how your organization will interface with the upcoming eIDAS 2.0 ecosystem, this milestone highlights three critical strategic advantages:
The vast majority of sandbox participants are end-user organizations, such as individual banks, insurers, or government agencies, testing internal use cases. Truvity participates as a service provider. We have built the foundational platform that enables other enterprises to connect, issue, and verify credentials without needing to waste years building and certifying complex cryptography in-house.
The German Sandbox environment currently features around 150 submitted use cases, yet only a handful of end-to-end integrations have actually been completed. Truvity’s success within this first-mover density demonstrates that our technology is validated against real national wallet architecture well ahead of the broader market. And shipping a working integration within weeks of joining the May 2026 cohort demonstrates our product's maturity.
Most ecosystem actors choose a single lane – either verifying credentials or issuing them. Truvity is registered in the sandbox as both a Relying Party (cryptographically verifying wallet credentials) and an EAA Provider (issuing secure credentials into the user's wallet). Our Truvity EUDI Wallet Connector is fully validated to handle both sides of the digital identity transaction.

The integration utilizes standard, open protocols designed to align directly with the final European Digital Identity Architecture and Reference Framework (ARF) requirements:

Operational Note: This successful milestone was executed entirely within the official pre-production German Sandbox environment utilizing mock test data. In strict alignment with eIDAS 2.0 workstreams, this phase validates EAA Proof of Account issuance; Personal Identification Data (PID) verification workstreams remain a separate, ongoing focus. Deploying a validated wallet connector solves an organization's immediate, mandatory compliance burden. Under our "Comply & Compete" framework, this initial investment serves as the architectural foundation for advanced business workflows later on.
